at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill.

College Park invite educators
and policymakers to a National Capitol
Summit on Latino Students and Educational
Opportunity in Washington DC. The purpose
of the Summit is to bring focus and recognition
of the important issues related to the
expansion of educational opportunity for
the nation's fastest growing constituency.
The event will focus on three important
areas of Latino educational opportunity:
academic preparation, postsecondary access,
and postsecondary success. Each session
will involve two separate plenary panels
of experts, including special appearances
and speeches by members of the United
States Senate and House of Representatives.
Topics will include:
- Early childhood development
- Immigration policy (e.g., student
aid)
- Academic course-taking patterns
- Pre-college outreach
- Community partnerships
- High school graduation
- College admissions
- Financial
aid
- College retention and persistence
