EPI Releases Education Primer for Canadian Federal Election

TORONTO, ON, September 16, 2008 During the 2008 Canadian federal election campaign, the Educational Policy Institute will be releasing a series of election-related papers. Attached is the first of these papers entitled Investing for the Future: Post-Secondary Education Issues and the Canadian Federal Election. This paper is an overview of top education issues in Canada designed to act as a resource for those interested in education as an election issue. The paper provides an overview of four key post-secondary education issues from a federal perspective:

• Funding Post-Secondary Education
• Investments in Research
• Tuition, Student Aid and Affordability
• Access and Persistence
