EPI Introduces Dolores Mize as Senior Policy Advisor

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA, November 12, 2008 — The Educational Policy Institute is pleased to announce that Dr. Dolores Mize has joined the non-profit think tank as Senior Policy Advisor. In this role, Dr. Mize will assist the Educational Policy Institute in spearheading policy-based research at the local, state, and national levels in the United States, and also assist with the development of policy-based media and professional development events. Mize also brings expertise in P-16 policy and practice that will benefit schools, higher education institutions, and governments.

Dr. Mize has a rich history of policy experience, having served as Vice President for Public Policy and Research at the Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education (WICHE) in Boulder, Colorado and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education for a decade, serving as Associate Vice Chancellor and Special Assistant to the Chancellor. In that role, she helped secure more than $90 million for Oklahoma to help more students obtain a degree, thereby strengthening the states human capital.

Dr. Mize led the creation and implementation of the first statewide college access marketing campaign in the nation while in Oklahoma. Oklahoma's successful campaign led to a nationwide focus on reaching students through college access marketing, efforts that included a major AdCouncil campaign. She has worked extensively with the federal GEAR UP program and serves on its national advisory commission. She further serves on an education advisory council for XAP, Inc.

Mize also serves as an adjunct for the National Emergency Response Rescue Training Center (NERRTC), a not-for-profit organization founded by congressional mandate after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Mize received her Ph.D. in psychology from Oklahoma State University. Please contact Dr. Mize at dmize@educationalpolicy.org.
